Examples of Previous Work
Major Functional Review and Redesign
Yellow Edge was engaged by the ACT Government to assist the Education Directorate in reviewing and potentially redesigning a major and important function servicing all schools in the ACT.
This involved extensive interviews, focus groups with staff and stakeholders in schools and in detailed analysis of performance and how services are delivered. Our work included recommending a clearer functional structure, an operating model, model of care, service delivery models and multidisciplinary workforce structures.
This engagement revealed the complexity and dedication within the ACT education ecosystem, highlighting the need for sensitive, transparent reviews to manage this complexity and strive for clarity and simplification. Emphasizing co-design and trusting those affected by complexity enables the development of effective solutions, with front-line employees often holding the keys to overcoming their challenges. The process was intellectually stimulating, made more rewarding through collaboration with ACT government colleagues, allowing for a shared exploration of solutions in a professional and open environment.
Listening to and witnessing the passion and commitment of staff for the schools and students that they served was inspiring.
Designing a new service for Government
Yellow Edge was engaged by the ACT Government to help design and facilitate a community consultation, engagement and design process to develop the parameters and service delivery model for an Independent Planning Advisory Service (IPAS) in the ACT. The IPAS is about assisting members of the community to be better informed about and have access to advice in development applications and other planning processes.
From this engagement, we learned the significant value citizens and community groups place on genuine and empathic engagement. Their involvement leads to better service design, outcomes, and increased satisfaction, as they appreciate their perspectives and experiences being seriously considered. We enjoyed the diversity of people we met, the privilege of listening to their stories, and the responsibility of reflecting their insights in our recommendations.
We enjoyed working with our colleagues in the ACT Government who supported and trusted us.
