Christine Dacey
Christine’s 30-year career in the Australian Public Service spans two decades in the Senior Executive Service, holding key positions such as Deputy Secretary across policy, programs, corporate, and service delivery. Notable achievements include leading the government's response to the COVID pandemic, contributing to the Henry Tax and Cooper Superannuation Reviews for retirement security, and playing a crucial role in the global response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
However, Christine values her collaborations with people and teams as her greatest achievements. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to working with individuals at various stages of their lives and careers, which has remained the constant and most rewarding 'true north' in her professional and personal life.
Recently retired from the APS, Christine's final role was as the Chief Operating Officer at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, and Communications. Her extensive career also includes contributions to the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, and the Australian Taxation Office.
With a Bachelor of Commerce, Christine now serves as a non-Executive Director for an ACT social enterprise and is thoroughly enjoying the next phase of her post-APS life.
